a tribute to Farrah

One of my favorite shows growing up was Charlie’s Angels. The original 1976 show with Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith. I had crushes on all of them, too. [It’s a wonder my mother didn’t know then that I was going to be gay when I grew up]  I even had this poster on my bedroom wall:

 farrah

(yes, she HAD to have known…..)

I was very sad to learn that Farrah passed away today at the age of 62. Here’s to you, Farrah! An inspiration to this little girl, still!

(And, Kate and Farrah are both looking exceptionally butch in the photo, don’t you think?)

  1. I’m so sad that she suffered and then passed away.

I am hoping we get a Charlie’s Angels marathon out of if though.

I wanna see me some Kelly!!!

    Is that wrong?

  2. trinity2 Says:

Yes, I am hoping for the marathon, too!

  3. When I was a kid, the boy across the street traded his “boy” posters for our “girl” posters – he got the Charlie’s Angels and we got David and Shaun Cassidy and Leif Garret and the Bay City Rollers…and then he would sell the posters we gave him to the boys.

I loved Charlie’s Angels when I was a kid. I kept my posters, thank you very much!

The boy moved away before 9th grade, and I didn’t see him for many years after that – yep, he’s gay. So am I. Who woulda thunk it?

  4. I had the traditional farrah cut. Frankly, though, I think that nobody really looked good in that cut with the exception of Farrah.

  5. Farrah was one of the most iconic stars of the 70s and as a little girl growing up in a dull and depressed Ireland of that era, she represented all that was glamorous and beautiful – a million miles away from our existence.
